At Intapp, I led the design of AI applied outreach experience that helps professionals generate personalized client emails using relationship intelligence and firm data.

Context

Applied Outreach was initiated as part of Intapp’s broader push to embed AI into core DealCloud workflows and improve how business development teams engage clients. The initiative was driven by the reality that users were spending significant effort manually personalizing outreach emails in order to increase engagement.

Explorations

The initial concept focused on adding AI-generated talking points for users to select at the end of the email generation flow. While quick to implement, this approach created too much friction and did little to reduce user effort or improve confidence in the output.

It also surfaced a larger gap: we were underutilizing the rich relationship and firm intelligence already available in DealCloud. This realization prompted me to step back and connect the dots across our broader capabilities. I partnered with multiple teams to gather buy-in and reframe the experience into a more context-driven solution that better leveraged our existing data to support truly personalized outreach.

Final Solution

The final solution brings forward DealCloud’s data to provide richer context and a more agentive workflow. With a single click, the system recognize relevant signals and generates a tailored outreach draft, reducing friction and helping users to create more personalized content
